CONROE, TEXAS: Miles Fridrich, 24, a Dallas native, has been arrested on charges of first-degree murder for fatally stabbing Dr Talat Jehan Khan, 52, while she was sitting on a picnic table outside her apartment in Conroe, Texas, as per the New York Post

Fridrich has had previous encounters with the police for the unlawful possession of weapons, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter. Conroe police arrested him on June 28, 2020, for unlawfully carrying a weapon, but the case was reportedly dismissed later. 

In January 2021, Travis County police arrested him for the same reason, which also got dismissed.

On October 28, Khan, a pediatrician, was sitting with her dog, talking to someone on the phone, when Fridrich "came out of nowhere" and stabbed her multiple times.

Based on ABC reports, the incident occurred at around 12.30 pm at the Alys apartments on 15000 Mansions View Dr, off I-45 in the College Park area.

As per the Montgomery Police Department, Khan, a mother-of-two, succumbed to her wounds at the crime scene.

Miles Fridrich fled after attacking Talat Jehan Khan

Miles Fridrich, who fled the crime scene after the murder, was later caught based on witnesses' descriptions.

"Witnesses on scene gave a good description of the suspect and his direction of travel," said the police, adding, "Officers quickly set up a perimeter and were able to locate and detain the suspect a short distance away on Johnson-Martin Rd."

As per authorities, a $500,000 bond has also been set on Fridrich, who is being held at the Montgomery County Jail. The motive behind the murder remains unknown.

Talat Jehan Khan recently moved to Conroe

Talat Jehan Khan's family remembered the beloved pediatrician after her tragic death. Her brother, Wajahat Nyaz, noted that she moved from Seattle to Conroe only in July.

"She liked to see the sun and warm weather, so that was one of the main reasons why she moved here," said her brother, adding, "Her kids and her kids she looked after as a pediatrician were her entire life. Everything in her life revolved around those two things."

Nyaz also said they are unaware of any connection between Khan and Fridrich. 

Her niece Mahnoor Mangrio remembered the late pediatrician as loving, kind, and the best aunt and noted, 'This is an immeasurable loss for our family, completely unexpected,' as per Daily Mail
