1017 Records artist Ralo was arrested in 2018 after federal agents accused him of trafficking over $2 million in marijuana. The Atlanta native has been in DeKalb County Jail awaiting trial ever since and finally saw his day in court two months ago. According to an Instagram post shared on Wednesday night (June 1), Ralo has just been sentenced to eight years in federal prison.
But there’s a silver lining. He’s been beyond bars for so long, the judge granted him some time served. As explained in the caption, “The Judge sentenced Ralo to 8 years in Federal Prison, he was given over 4 years credit time served. The BOP has also credited him 1 & 1/2 year for good time.
“He was recommended 1 year ankle monitor after the halfway house approve his home address; which will bring him home to us late next year, but our goal is for him to complete his GED or RDAP Drug program so we can get another year off his sentence. That will bring him home to us in less than a year. We need prayer.”
In April 2018, an affidavit was filed to the U.S. District Court alleging Ralo was the leader of a criminal street gang called “Famerica” who federal agents claimed was responsible for smuggling a little less than $2 million worth of marijuana from California to Georgia. The “Famgoon” — as federal documents said the gang called themselves — made at least two known cross-country run using charters flights.

While Ralo didn’t get exactly what he’d hoped for, the Instagram update seems to suggest better days are ahead.
