Israel has finally announced their representative for Eurovision 2018 and it is already being bagged as the winning entry!

The Grand Final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be held on May 12, 2018, in Lisbon, Portugal – it’s so close now we can literally hear it! With most entries now announced and ready to compete, it’s about time Israel came forward with theirs. The saying, ‘save the best til’ last’ is definitely fitting here – prepare yourselves!

Who is Netta?

Netta is a singer from the Hod HaSharon area of Israel. She has most recently bagged representing Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 after winning HaKokhav HaBa (‘The Next Star’). This winning entry comes as no surprise to us after Netta has been making Eurovision fans and critics’ heads turn. The Israeli Eurovision entry has quickly become the fan favourite with odds of 7/2 from British Bookmakers Coral.

The interesting entry from Israel has also been referred to as ‘The Chicken Song’  by some CelebMix writers due to its over-use of a chicken clucker sound effect – it wouldn’t be Eurovision without it!

Does Netta have a chance at winning Eurovision 2018?

Although Israel’s past entries are Eurovision’s own marmite, meaning you either love them or hate them; there is no denying Israel have a good chance here!

Also with mentioned winning odds backing the bizarre entry, we’re certain this entry is one for the history books of Eurovision. The entry has everything you want to be brought to the song competition: a strong female vocalist, quirky stage persona and most importantly – COMEDY VALUE!

The Eurovision Song Contest 2018 will be hosted at the Altice Arena in Lisbon. The two Semi-Finals taking place on 8th May and 10th May 2018 with the Grand Final taking place on 12th May 2018. A total of 43 countries will compete in the contest.
