On December 16th, 2018, the annual Miss Universe competition took place live in Thailand and all the women looked absolutely incredible.

Top 20: Puerto Rico. Nepal, Thailand, Poland, Belgium, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Mabuhay, Vietnam, Canada, Curacao, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Philippines, South Africa, Venezuela, USA, Brazil, and Indonesia

Top 10: Puerto Rico, Vietnam, Costa Rica, Philippines, Curacao, South Africa, Venezuela, Nepal, Canada, and Thailand

After the top 10, every contestant came out for the bathing suit and evening gown competition. The top 10 got their own special moments by strutting down the stage in their swimsuits. After a commercial break, it was time for the evening gown competition and everyone looked amazing.

Top 5: Puerto Rico, Vietnam, Philippines, South Africa and Venezuela

After the top 5 contestants were announced, they each had to answer a question discussing controversial topics happening in society today including the #MeToo movement, the legalization of marijuana, and others.

Top 3: South Africa, Philippines and Venezuela

The top 3 contestants got a final word before the judges picked who would win Miss Universe, and they had to answer this question: “What was the most important lesson you’ve learned in your life, and how would you apply it to your time as Miss Universe?”

It was all down to this, and it was between Miss Philippines and South Africa. After a lot of hard work and dedication (and a lot of tension waiting for host Steve Harvey to announce the winner), Catriona Gray a.k.a Miss Philippines was crowned Miss Universe.
